“The Emperor”

 
    “The Emperor” is large rocky outcropping on the western edge of the harbor in Anchorhead. It vaguely resembles an elderly man with a crown standing with a scepter gazing out into the harbor. The resemblance has become a bit of local color, where the citizenry joke that the rock is an ancient sovereign watching over and protecting all who sail upon the seas. It has become a tradition for Anchorhead-based ships to salute “The Emperor” as they depart the harbor, with the superstition that it will bestow good fortune and safe sailing on their journey.
